Colour On Cabinetry

Colour on Cabinetry

It's official colour on cabinetry is here to stay and we can’t get enough of it! But if you're about to embark on new joinery or a kitchen, you may want to consider a few things first. White is always a safe choice and we are guilty of loving the clean simplicity, nothing beats white but think of considering warmer whites as they too can look amazing especially back with timber, stone and brass. When using colour on joinery make sure you sample the colour first by ordering an A4 size brush out or better yet, ask your cabinet maker to provide a sample of your final choice. We mostly have all our cabinetry hand-painted, the subtle brush strokes gives your joinery a more authentic look and allows you to change up the colour over time.

The Blues

It's no secret how much we love our blue, especially painted on joinery. If your not brave enough to commit to the entire kitchen, consider featuring your island bench a colour and that way you can keep the rest of your joinery white. We also love blue on vanities in the bathroom, that pop of colour can add instant wow factor. Check out our portfolio on our website, you can see the many ways which we have used colour on joinery, especially blue.

Sage Greens

It's as subtle as it is beautiful, green is fast emerging as a key colour in our home interiors and it's no wonder that this soothing tone, inspired by nature is fast becoming a popular choice of colour for joinery in our homes. We prefer using more subtle tones of greens, sage being a favourite as it has a lasting, timeless look that simply won't get old.

Naturally Beautiful

White has fast been replaced as a colour of choice to warmer whites that are often softer and work back beautifully with natural organic materials. Timber is having a resurgence in joinery and we are really excited about bringing these natural finishes back into our homes. The use of timber and painted joinery can look soft yet refreshingly new.

White

White is always right and simply you just can't go wrong with a white kitchen. We are strong advocates of going with what you love, rather than being dictated by trends. If white is your vibe and playing it safe is far more appealing, then we would say, do what works for you. That's the magic of design today, it's staying true to your own design aesthetic and what resonates with you.

Moody Tones

When we think moody tones for cabinetry, shades of teal, olive and indigo are often at the forefront of good design in joinery. No longer are our laundry rooms dull and boring. Make a statement with one-off joinery pieces in your home, you're only limited by your imagination. We highly recommend only hand-painted finishes for bold colours and avoid more permanent polyurethane finishes, that way if you do want to change it up over time, it's a whole lot more achievable.
